Kim Delaney (born Kim Delaney) is an American actress best known for portraying Detective Diane Russell in ABCs NYPD Blue, for which she won the Emmy Award. She has also starred in series like All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives and CSI: Miami. Delaney was born the sole child from her mom who was a homemaker as well as a senior executive from her union, the United Auto Workers. Delaney spent most of her childhood with her four brothers. The idea of being a reporter for the court in childhood but started modelling while in high school and eventually gaining commercials after moving into New York. Her first film role was as a teenage innocent in All My Children, a soap-opera from 1981. Delaney is well-known as an actress who has been featured in a variety of TV movies, and dramas. While she has a successful professional life, Delaney's personal one is not as content and successful. She is talented and beautiful, has battled drinking before. Her marriages have also failed twice. In 2005, the actress was denied custody over her only son.
