Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, also known as Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed by the label's debut female singer with Dreamville Records by J. Cole. In October 21st, 2016, she released Pho, her first EP on the label Dreamville Records. This was when she began to gain the attention of her peers. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. The album was released in May 2019. Ari Lennox first posted her music on the internet in 2012. Her debut album Ariography and debut mixtape in 2013, the mixtape Five Finger Discount. Ari Lennox continued to upload her songs online throughout 2014, including the independently-released single Bound. On July 21st, the 21st of July in 2015 Omen was featured on Elephant Eyes' track Sweat It Out. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville crew at that time and wanted her to create Rihanna reference. The official signing ceremony was held by Dreamville Records on 8 December. She was featured on the album collaboratively titled Revenge of the Dreamers II in the track Backseat featuring Cozz. In October of 2016 she dropped her debut EP, Pho. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as opening the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017, in which she supported by EarthGang. In 2018 she guest-starred on two tracks with her label-mates EarthGang in the video for Nothing but the Best. Also, she appeared on Bas in Icarus. The debut album of Ari Lennox Shea Butter Baby was released on 16 July 2018. The album's first single, called Whipped Cream, from the album was released on in September 5th, 2018, accompanied by a the music video. On November 9 she released two additional singles titled 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. Then on the 13th of November two singles, titled The No One and pedigree. Shea Butter Baby was released on her debut single, February 26, 2019 to accompany the album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby appeared along with Cole as part of the Creed II sound track on the 16th of November. A music video debuted 20 February 2019 in order to go along with the track. Within one week, it had over 3 million views. The singer was a part of the 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour back in December of 2018.
